WHAT ARE ALL THE VENUES DOING NOW? When Google launched 'Street View' I wondered what the old venue looks like now in 2009. This led me to look at all our old WayOut venues and here they are with a bit of a story... |

in Berkley Sq On various Thursdays from 2nd December 1993 - 1995 Chris was the manager and we had the venue on Thursday nights for the (then) monthly WayOut Club. We also tryed a mixed/fashion/gay night called Glamourgasm. It was a lovely venue but was not available on Saturdays ... |

The Basement under 'Cats' Drury Lane Toni helped us out by giving us her venue to keep us going after losing Macies. We were only here for a few weeks and shared the night with a drum and base DJ club that took over at 2am. They went on to do very well with thier own venue in Vauxhall. We just went on. I remember that venue being very sweaty but thanks to you Toni for keeping us going ... |

Maxies under the Scotch House Knightsbridge 6th August 1993 - Nov 1993 The owner was related to Mr Chow who's famous restaurant is still next door. We were in the basement. They had a volume limiting system that always cut out when we did a show. The girls from Harvey Nics and Harrods would have a drink here after work watching me set up our record decks on top of the piano. They often stayed. Knightsbridge was fun but they lost thier licence because of noise ... |

Corner of Titchfield and Clipstone Sts 24th June 1995 - December 1995 With a basement disco, neighbours complaining (including 'Boy George') and the manager opening late every night of the week without a licence, we were heading for a fall. Not that we knew they had no licence. We liked the venue 'Hinge & Bracket' were regulars here. Miss Sarah Lloyd joined us here. We got raided, shut down and moved on... |

Tatty Bogle in Kingly Court December 1995 - June 1996 (and from 1994 on Wednesdays) From 1994 Steffan and I hosted alternate Wednesday nights at the Tatty Bogle. We loved the club it attracted an after theatre crowd including many stars of the stage. It was a piano bar featuring the late Michael who was followed by the lovely Baz. It was too small really for WayOut's Saturday crowd but we stayed almost a year looking for a better venue ... |

The Rhiengold in Sedley Place 15th June 1996 - October 1996 The Tatty Bogle was strangling us and a German Club (very Berlinesque) offered that we share thier venue. This meant that there regular damen unt herren would join us which worked quite well. We had plenty of space and a good stage but the venue we found was up for sale so our search continued. ... |

Hot Shots in Minories City of London 12th October 1996 - October 1998 Shortly after re-named Tiffanies. This venue had everything, a discreet location with easy access and parking. size, great staff, licences we loved it. It was so big we shut off areas and used them for photo or video shoots. Until the owner Tony said do you want the good news or the bad news ? bad news the building is being redeveloped. Good news our venu just round the corner is now set up as a nightclub... |
