CO-FOUNDER AND HOST VICKY LEE

Vicky discovered the joys of the London's Tranny scene back in 1987. She met Steffan Whitfield at The Kensington Roof Gardens in 1991 where she was a regular every Sunday night. After an invitation from Steffan to Fortnam & Mason for afternoon tea the partnership clicked. Vicky soon started working with Steffan in 1992 on promotions including 14 weeks at London's Hippodrome working for a gay night called Bolts. Steffan and Vicky never did get paid - but they learnt an awful lot.

The experience proved that Steffans imagination, creativity and network of contacts married well with Vicky's understanding of the fledgling transgender scene, multi-skilled talents, enthusiasm and organisation. This together with the respect that they had for each other through thick and thin enabled them to co-found The WayOut Club which the hosted together until Steffan's intimely death from cancer in 2005. Vicky continued to host the club from this time

Vicky Lee co-founded 'The Transvestites Guide to London' in 1992 together with Caroline Egerton. This first slim volume with no pictures was sold from club to club from their handbags.
In 1993 Vicky co-founded 'The WayOut Publishing Company' and the 'The Transvestites Guide to London' which in 1995 became the annual international
'Tranny Guide' which became in 2005
